There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in BSN. The round was exceptionally exciting as four games ended with a tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Criollos defeated Cangrejeros in Caguas 90-86. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 51-43 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Criollos made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Criollos made 10 blocks. The best player for the winners was American point guard Travis Trice II (183-1993, college: Michigan St.) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 assists and 5 steals (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). The other American import center Moses Brown (218-1999, college: UCLA) chipped in 19 points, 10 rebounds and 6 blocks. Criollos' coach used entire bench in such tough game. American guard Malik Beasley (196-1996, college: FSU) produced 20 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Santurce will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Caguas will try to continue on its current victory against Santurce on the road.
Capitanes recorded a loss in Arecibo. Hosts were edged by Santeros 85-83. Dominican Rigoberto Mendoza (191-1992) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. John Brown III contributed with 14 points, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Australian forward Jack McVeigh (203-1996, college: Nebraska) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for Arecibo. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Santeros will play against Bayamon on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Capitanes will play against Guaynabo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Fifth-ranked Piratas made lots of trouble for Atleticos in San German on Monday. Atleticos managed to secure only three-point victory 76-73. However their fans expected much easier game. Montrezl Harrell had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. Emmanuel Mudiay responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. San German will meet at home Carolina in the next round where they are favorite. Quebradillas will play against Ponce and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Rest of the games of round 2 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Manati defeated Guaynabo in a road game 85-78. Arecibo beat Ponce at home 110-102. Aguada won against Mayaguez on the opponent's court 75-72. Guaynabo lost to undefeated San German in a home game 77-80. Winless Carolina recorded a loss to Manati on the road 88-90.
The best stats of 2nd round was 20 points and 8 rebounds by Tyler Cook of Manati.




Guaynabo - Manati 78-85

There was an upset in Guaynabo where Mets were defeated by Osos 85-78 on Sunday. The former international center Tyler Davis (208-1997, college: Texas A&M) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Jamil Wilson (201-1990, college: Marquette) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. American center Devin Williams (206-1994, college: WVU) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Theo Pinson Jr (198-1995, college: UNC) scored 16 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Osos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mets will play against Arecibo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Capitanes recorded a loss in Arecibo. Hosts were edged by Santeros 85-83. Strangely Arecibo outrebounded Aguada 41-27 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Aguada players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Dominican Rigoberto Mendoza (191-1992) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. American power forward John Brown III (203-1992, college: High Point) contributed with 14 points, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Australian forward Jack McVeigh (203-1996, college: Nebraska) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and guard Diego Pellot (185-2001, college: St.Mary's, TX) added 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Arecibo. Fifth-ranked Piratas made lots of trouble for Atleticos in San German on Monday. Atleticos managed to secure only three-point victory 76-73. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 18-10. But Quebradillas won second period 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when San German won last quarter 19-18. Atleticos dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Piratas' 26. American center Montrezl Harrell (203-1994, college: Louisville) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import point guard Alex Hamilton (193-1993, college: La Tech, agency: SLN) chipped in 11 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Atleticos players scored in double figures. DR Congolese guard Emmanuel Mudiay (196-1996) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and Dominican swingman Victor Liz (190-1986) scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Capitanes made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Derrick Walton Jr (185-1995, college: Michigan) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Thomas Robinson (203-1991, college: Kansas) chipped in 17 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. New Zealand forward Samuel Waardenburg (208-1999, college: Miami, FL) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and Nigerian guard Olumiye Oni (198-1997, college: Yale, agency: Slash Sports) scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Mayaguez players scored in double figures. Indios' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help.
